Queuing up for a meeting with a Djinn

It is said that Djinss came to Delhi with Delhi Sultanate coming to power in 1000 AD. Most likely Balban the Sultan of Delhi was the first in using these Djinss to gain power and control over Delhi and other areas. Near his graveyard which is often filled with paranormial stories, one can find some bizarre holes near the grave. They are not dug up by rats or some other animals but by man himself. It is believe that Jamali Kamali two sufi saints who used to live in his tenure brought Djinns from Persia to India in pitchers. They were realised in Delhi so that the Persians could set up the Delhi Sultanate here and from there on the sufis also started a following here. Saints like Zamali Kamali, Nizamuddin Aulia, Qutubudin Bhaktiar Kaki are some of the prominent sufis whose dargahs are always filled with people.

The Gate to Delhi Sultanate and the Djinns

Every Thursday the Djinns come to Delhi.Thousand of Hindus and Muslims together gather at Feroz Shah Kotla citadel in Delhi. They wait for 2 pm so that the entry becomes free and when the times is up they throng in huge numbers and rush to meet the Peers and Djinns. They write letters, take perfumes, incenses, candles to please the Djinns- they make sure that they don't come without perfumes. The Djinss like the perfume smell and then they listen to the prayers of the devotees.

Once a Sultan of Delhi - Feroz Shah Tughlaq established a city called Firozabad near the banks of Yamuna. Once he was in Ambala when he saw two Ashokan Pillars. He was so mesmerised with the two pillars that he ordered them to be shifted to Delhi. And this was so endearing to him that when both the pillars came to Delhi via Yamuna in a boat with tons of cotton and silk - The Sultan Feroz Shah was personally present to see that no harm is being done to those two pillars. The mystery is never revealed as to why Feroz Shah - A Delhi Sultan got some much interested in Ashokan Pillars - Were they the power pillars  or does the Djinss told him to do so that his empire is consolidated. Something mystical and mysterious is there at feroz Shah Kotla because the way the Ashokan Pillar has been used creating a Pyramid with small rooms down below where the Djinns come and enjoy delicacies gifted by the people of Delhi
